Gorm Heron

Chief Technology Officer

Gorm is our Chief Technology Officer and an expert in in-situ remediation, bringing deep technical expertise to complex environmental projects. He is focused on enhancing Hilltop’s TEVET® system and developing a cost-effective in-situ method that leverages the same technology to deliver efficient, practical solutions for challenging sites.

Gorm earned his Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from the Technical University of Denmark and has worked with the EPA, UC Berkeley, Steamtech, Terratherm, and TRS, developing and applying in-situ thermal remediation technologies. He has overseen major projects, including the DaNang project in Vietnam, where he helped remediate 113,000 cubic yards of Agent Orange–contaminated soil, making the area safer for the surrounding community. Gorm thrives on solving problems others consider impossible, from DNAPL challenges early in his career to developing sustainable thermal solutions for PFAS today.

Gorm has been married to Bettina for 30 years and enjoys traveling the world with her, windsurfing, bicycling, diving, and spoiling their pets. He spent nine months living in the Maldives, an experience that broadened his perspective and appreciation for different cultures.
